What are the responsibilities and job description for the Color Matcher position at Schneller LLC?

The Color Matcher position is responsible for accurately matching colors for various products to meet customer specifications, ensuring proper documentation as required by procedure, and performing Stager responsibilities on an as-needed basis, in addition to other duties as may be required by the Compound Department or manufacturing, in general, to meet company goals.

The Stager position is responsible for mixing and matching production compounds for further refinement by the Color Matcher, gathering and staging materials for the department, and performing other duties as may be required to meet company goals.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Color Matcher and Stager:

  • Demonstrates Schneller values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and processes.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards regarding safety, maintains a clean, organized work area and equipment to ensure quality products and safe work environment, as well as complying with all other company policies and procedures established for employees.
  • Complies with color matching guidelines and procedures to ensure accurate formulation and documentation of production color match requests.
  • Applies knowledge of color computer as appropriate to perform the work.
  • Reports all labor and inventory transactions using electronic or paper system provided by Schneller.
  • Performs other responsibilities as may be required to achieve company goals.
  • Meets attendance requirements for position


Color Matcher

  • Mixes compound and color matches all products in their required construction and texture per customer specifications and company capabilities.


Stager

  • Safely operates all mixing equipment and material handling equipment required to perform responsibilities
  • Mixes raw materials in proper quantities in preparation for the color matching process performed by the Color Matcher
  • Monitors departmental raw materials and advises Leader of the status of on-hand inventory.
  • Properly identifies and labels all materials supplied to the work center.


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in manufacturing preferred


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Ability to learn and understand department materials and procedures.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of Schneller products, quality standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform high-school level math calculations required to perform the functions of this position.
  • To conform with US export regulations and ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772, incumbents for this role must be eligible for any required authorizations from the US government.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without accommodation:

  • Must be able to safely operate related equipment (such as tow motor, mixers, vat washer, & carts) 8-10 hours per day, stand in place for 8-10 hours per day, and safely move throughout the work center and plant environment.
  • Must be able to lift up 60 pounds infrequently throughout the scheduled workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently throughout the scheduled workday.
  • Standing in Place – C, Sitting – I, Walking – F, Lifting up to 40 lbs – F, Bending – F, Climbing (step ladder) – I, Fine Motor Skills – F, Grasping/Squeezing – F, Pushing (carts) – O, Twisting (to obtain materials located in the work area - F
  • Position requires annual eye examination with written documentation of adequate vision to detect minute flaws in material with or without corrective lenses, including successful completion of Farnsworth Munsell Color Vision Testing.

Salary : $35,500 - $45,000
