Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Responsible for shot peening parts to SBES and customer requirements by programming, setting up and operating numerically controlled (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment, work area and supplies.
Essential Function/Responsibilities:
- Plans shot peening activities by studying work orders, applicable drawings, specifications and quantities.
- Program and set up machines to applicable shot peening parameters, shot size and intensities.
- Plans and executes documented validation of machine performance by shooting test strips and recording results.
- Determining and masking areas on parts as per drawings and specifications.
- Utilize computer to look up work orders, specifications and forms.
- Communicates clearly with management on machine and supply needs within the shot peen department.
- Performs maintenance on machines and work area that projects safety, quality and professionalism.
- Performs other duties as directed by management.
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:
- Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead crane
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, chest high
- Previous shot peening experience and or training a plus
- Basic computer knowledge
