SciTech Services, Inc. (SciTech) is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician-Project Manager experienced in biomedical research support to serve as the representative for the company in the day-to-day operations and customer / client interactions in a quality animal research facility. Additional duties will be to provide assistance and oversight to the veterinary technician team.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the onsite staff.
- Review and analyze operational needs and make recommendations to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement training plans for staff training and continuing education.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure compliance with existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Provide oversight and implementation of regulatory requirements for animal husbandry care and ensure the health and well-being of various research animals.
- Conduct and participate in interviews of applicants for open positions.
- Monitor employee performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Perform data entry in computerized systems for report generation.
- Prepare and submit required records, charts, logs, and inventories.
- Maintain staff rosters for coverage 7 days a week.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Animal Science or related field (preferred).
- 4-6 years management or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of Federal, state, and NIH regulations and policies to ensure regulatory compliance and AAALAC accreditation.
- AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level (LATG) and CMAR, can be considered in lieu of BS.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, with a positive attitude.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift, pull, and push equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Work is performed in an area that is noisy and has relatively high ambient temperature (greater than 77°F).
