Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED;
Minimum three years of diversified experience working in a customer service environment or a financial institution.
Personal Computer experience to include Microsoft Office products.
OR
Successful completion of all requirements of the Scott Credit Union Branch Manager Trainee Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
Minimum two years’ experience providing financial services and deposit products in a customer service environment
Loan and deposit regulations experience.
Primary Functions:
The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the branch. The Assistant Branch Manager will ensure the branch’s success in the Branch Manager’s absence. This includes working with employees to ensure exceptional member service is offered, members are educated around SCU products and services, tasks are completed, and the branch runs efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Coordinates deposit, lending and member services functions in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Scott Credit Union and federal regulations. Educate members on credit union products and services that will enhance their financial position.
- Coach, lead and motivate branch employees: promote participation in cross sales of products and services: provide training where applicable. This includes referring members to mortgage, business lending and Retirement and Investment Services. Meets with employees regularly on an individual and group basis to establish and reinforce sales/service goals.
- Coach staff to recognize cross sale opportunities, referring members to mortgage, business lending/services and investments.
- Works directly with members and representatives of associated industries within our Field of Membership (i.e., SEG's, Community served) to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
- Develops plans and schedules for the efficient use of materials, machines, technological equipment and employees resulting in outstanding service‑delivery.
- Develops plans and schedules for the efficient use of branch office staff, resulting in outstanding service delivery. Develop and coordinate schedules for multiple branches to ensure staff are working actively on both teller and platform task.
- Attains branch goals in savings, lending, account relationships, transactions, profitability and cross-sell ratios for multiple branches.
- Sets clear expectations for employee performance and responsibilities, coordinates work and procedures, evaluates progress and provides feedback.
Ensures that all branch staff is performing their responsibilities with full knowledge and practice of compliance regulations, internal controls and security procedures.- Ensures branch reports and task are completed with accuracy and meets deadlines. Reviews and research errors and ensure accountability of those involved as well as recognizing training and coaching opportunities.
- Inputs consumer loan applications in accordance with SCU loan policy and federal lending regulations, counsels and advises members on financial situations and cross-sells credit union products and services.
- Responsible for providing prompt, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous member service. Investigates member concerns, researches and finalizes a resolution.
- Participates in community activities to promote and market the branch and Scott Credit Union.
- Ensures that the branch image is favorable, reflecting a sound and secure financial institution that employs prudent housekeeping procedures, safety measures, and provides a pleasant atmosphere for members, including privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.
- Performs other branch employees’ duties as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises the employees at the branch level and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, seeking Management’s assistance when necessary; attending Supervisory meetings as well as any ongoing training sessions and communicate new information to the branch staff.
Assists the Branch Manager in providing tactical leadership and management for the assigned branch offices. Provide direction to effectively coach and motivate employees. Provide direction and coordination of communication and teamwork with other branches and departments to support the credit union’s goals.
Work Schedule:
Full Time Position - Monday through Saturday
Saturday Rotation as Scheduled
Varied hours and schedule depending on operational needs.
Location:
Ladue, MO; However, work location may change according to SCU staffing needs.
