Scott Credit Union is looking to hire a full-time Loan Originator Assistant to join our amazing Mortgage team. The Loan Originator Assistant works Monday – Friday, normal business hours.
**Training is to be completed in the first 60-90 days of employment at the Collinsville, IL location.
**Upon successful completion of training, qualifying employees may be eligible for remote/hybrid schedules.

The Day to Day as a Loan Originator Assistant
The Loan Originator Assistant is responsible for collecting and analyzing information, calculating and verifying data, and recommending approval of borrower's applications for open and closed end mortgages.
A typical day will look like:
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of SCU in-house and secondary market mortgage products and related regulations, policies and procedures.
- Quoting current mortgage interest rates and provide closing cost information.
- Interviewing loan applicants and provide program recommendations, when needed.
- Preparing Pre-Qualification and Pre-Approvals for loan originator.
- Assisting loan originator in completing the mortgage package.
- Requesting and/or collecting applicable documentation from each loan applicant.
- Attending and participating in all meetings as required by management.
- Processing mortgage applications for loan originator.
- Submitting applicant information through online underwriting tool to verify acceptance by secondary market.
- Collecting all necessary documentation from applicant to analyze financial status, credit profile and evaluate property to determine feasibility of granting loan.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in mortgage loan processing and/or closing/title company experience.
- Personal computer experience to include Microsoft Office products and lending systems.
- A valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle for extensive local travel and state minimum insurance coverage is also required.
Preferred Qualifications That Could Set You Ahead:
- Experience processing VA, FHA, USDA, and Conventional loans.
- Experience using Encompass.
