Job Summary
Scottsdale Community College is hiring a Library Assistant (Student Worker) to support the College Library (Part-Time).
This is a Student Worker position, candidates must have the intent to be a Scottsdale Community College student for 6 or more credit hours in the Spring 2026 semester.
The library assistant will assist library staff with daily, routine library operations. Duties will include shelving library materials, working at the front service desk, and shelf reading.
To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
AND
Must have the intent to be a Scottsdale Community College student for 6 or more credit hours in the Spring 2026 semester
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using computers
- Ability to communicate effectively in-person, on the telephone, and in writing
- Attention to detail and accurate output
- Ability to interact with faculty and staff in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Ability to learn the Library of Congress shelving system
- Demonstrate time management skills
Special Working Conditions
- May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs
- May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time, viewing a computer monitor
