Qualifications & Experience
Core Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee the scuba diving program, ensuring it aligns with safety protocols and policies.
- Maintain dive equipment and manage diver areas per SEA LIFE standards.
- Handle daily feeding, cleaning, and upkeep of aquatic exhibits.
- Conduct water quality testing, manage quarantine processes, and assist with specimen transport and disease management.
- Provide hands-on maintenance of aquarium displays, including those requiring SCUBA diving (e.g., a 200,000-gallon tropical display).
- Conduct guest presentations and interactive programming.
- Engage with visitors to educate them on the displays, promoting a memorable guest experience.
- Maintain daily records for exhibit specimens, dive activities, and animal health.
- Assist in the continuous development of display areas and documentation related to dive safety.
- Adhere to company and legal safety protocols, ensuring a safe environment for all guests and team members.
- Report incidents and participate in investigations as necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: B.A./B.S. in Life Sciences or related field, or certification in aquarium/zoological sciences.
- Certification: Advanced SCUBA certification at the PADI Divemaster level (or equivalent).
- Experience: Background in managing dive programs and working with aquatic displays.
Working Conditions
- Flexibility to work in varying environments, with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
