Schools & Group Booking Coordinator
About The Role: The Schools & Group Booking Coordinator is right in the heart of the magic by building partnerships and driving visitation and revenue with local schools, children’s groups, corporate partners, travel and tourism operators and more. They support and deliver marketing strategies, process orders efficiently, and help set the tone for an amazing guest experience. Compensation for this role is $19.50 per hour.
Qualifications & Experience
Responsibilities:
- Heavy telephone and email contact with school and daycare programs, corporate groups, travel and tourism contacts, scouts, group coordinators and more to process advanced bookings
- Drive guests to book their school, group, and birthday party online — or create their booking reservation for them via desktop software and communicate logistical details to the operations team
- Implement strong schools, group and trade marketing strategies to push advanced ticket purchases
- Deliver visitor volume and revenue with a specific focus on midweek volume to drive revenue targets and spends per head
- Work with Marketing Manager on weekly/monthly reporting and status updates on assigned projects and tasks
- Adopts an enthusiastic, assertive, and passionate approach to guest service, and demonstrates the Merlin Values at every opportunity
- Participate in trade shows and conferences when necessary
About this Role:
- Typically Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, with occasional flexibility to work an evening, weekend, or holiday with advanced notice.
- Full time, hourly
- Primarily based in a shared office at a desk, but will occasionally include tasks inside the attraction and mall areas.
About You
- Experience in group sales, event coordination or marketing preferred.
- Previous call center or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills. Ability to utilize standard software applications to include MS Office suite.
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
- Highly organized, flexible, and willing to complete tasks within deadlines.
- Possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Desire to work in fast-paced environments.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
