*Seasonal status. You will only be requested to work based on our booked event schedule and hours may vary. (Our typical "busy season" is the end of March through October.)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Kitchen Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and organizing ingredients and equipment by following provided prep lists and recipes to support the efficient operations of a kitchen. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, organizing supplies, and assisting chefs and other kitchen staff as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow the provided daily prep lists to execute all food preparation. This includes making sauces, cooking food items, and prepping food items according to the recipe.
- Manage prep tasks efficiently, prioritizing tasks based on the kitchen's needs to meet the demands of the kitchen.
- Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits.
- Cut, slice, and dice meats, poultry, and seafood.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Know and follow proper food handling techniques (i.e. time and temperature, raw items, safety/sanitation)
- Keep prep areas clean and organized. Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment after use.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, and blenders.
- Ensure the safety of the kitchen by following safety procedures, checking equipment for safety hazards, and reporting any hazards to management promptly.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth workflow and timely preparation of dishes.
- Work at offsite events as the schedule permits. Cooking, plating, and preparing appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts.
- Be ready to assist in various tasks as needed, such as receiving deliveries, organizing storage areas, and other kitchen-related responsibilities.
- Properly store food items in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
- Label and date all prepped food items.
- Keep track of inventory levels, rotate stock, and notify the chef or manager in charge that day when supplies are running low.
- Participe in team meetings and training sessions.

- catering/banquet experience
PHYSICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be comfortable standing long hours and lifting up to 40 pounds as well as team lifting up to 60 pounds. Comfortable working outside as well as inside, and off site at events with various weather conditions.
