The position:
Under general supervision, act as primary point of contact for the planning, scheduling and coordination of various types of inspections. Provide a high level of customer service to housing providers, participants, and other stakeholders in accordance with SHA standards. May conduct initial National Standards for the Physical Inspections of Real Estate Inspections as needed.

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 12 months experience as a Certification Specialist I or Assistant Property Manager at SHA and fully meeting expectations. Or a minimum of eighteen months experience in similar positions. Other combinations of relevant experience such as social services, government administration, property management, or housing and education maybe substituted.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent, and two years of college-level course work in social services, public administration, business, or related field; may substitute an additional two years of relevant work experience for the college level course work. Nan McKay certification preferred, but not required.
While these requirements are the traditional standards for developing the skills required for this classification, any combination of experience, training and education that demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the classification may be considered.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Washington Driver's License with fully insurable driving record.

- Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and National Standards for Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) certification
- Lead Based Paint Condition Assessment certification.
What will you be doing?
- Coordinate, schedule, and provide notification for a variety of inspections with multiple internal and external partners, key stakeholders, and tenants to ensure inspection dates are scheduled within the required timelines.
- Process, prepare, and send required forms of communication between the Seattle Housing Authority (SHA), landlords, tenants (participants), and property managers on a regular pre-determined basis regarding inspections.
- Process daily inspections and required record-keeping in the electronic filing software.
- files regarding lead-based paint testing and clearance by SHA and certified private risk assessors and any landlord files regarding owner non-compliance as applicable.
- Support inspectors, participants, and landlords to resolve differences through dispute resolution when conflict arises according to SHA policy and procedure as well as local tenant-landlord law.
- Document program participant non-compliance or suspected fraud; prepare the SHA case in appeal hearings; assist in presentation of case at hearings.
- Terminate program participants for Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and National Standards for Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) non-compliance with manager approval.
- Research, analyze, and problem solve complex situations and to resolve conflicts and inspection-related problems.
- Coordinate special tasks/projects and prepare or generate reports, according to established procedures and regulations.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operational efficiency (i.e., decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide seamless customer service).
- May perform limited HQS/NSPIRE inspections as business need requires.
- Attend all required training and safety meetings; use, maintain and replace assigned personal protective equipment; report all injuries and illnesses to supervisor immediately; complete and submit incident/accident reports as required; report hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices to supervisor; and follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies, and procedures. Monitor and enforce the agency's Safety and Health Program, and actively support and participate in Emergency Preparedness tasks.

Salary : $32 - $42
