What We Need:
Seattle Pacific University is seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our Women’s Rowing team as a part-time Assistant Coach. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow within NCAA rowing while playing a pivotal role in recruiting, mentoring, and leading student-athletes toward competitive success. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, team player, and positive role model who thrives in a faith-centered educational environment.
What You’ll Do:
Lead, mentor, and support student-athletes with integrity and enthusiasm
Recruit prospective student-athletes both from high schools and from the on-campus community
Instruct rowing fundamentals and foster development of novice rowers into varsity contributors
Collaborate with the Head Coach and other staff to deliver safe, successful team experiences
Assist with administrative tasks and logistical operations
Participate in spring travel and weekend events as required
Help with rowing equipment maintenance and boathouse upkeep
Represent SPU Athletics with professionalism and positivity
What You Bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Experience: Experience with a competitive collegiate rowing program (as athlete or coach)
Skills & Characteristics:
Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
Initiative and commitment to athlete development and recruitment
Enthusiasm for collaborative team culture and student mentorship
Interest in learning and growing as a collegiate coach
Certifications (or willingness to obtain post-hire with SPU support):
CPR Certification
Washington State Boater’s License
Washington State Driver’s License
USRowing Level 2 Certification

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $25,000 - $31,000 annually for 10 month appt, DOE
Position Type: Part-Time, Exempt
Hours: Approx. 19 hours per week; mornings preferred
Start Date: Early September
End Date: Late May
