SST is hiring an On-Call Security Officer in Austin, TX. This is a 1099, part-time position with the opportunity to transition full-time. We're looking for a multi-site Security Officer of any level in Texas to fill in for officers who are out on vacation, sick, or are no call/no show.

Pay Rate

• Level II, Non-commissioned (Unarmed) - $18.00 per hour
• Level III, Commissioned (Armed) - $19.00 per hour
• Level IV or higher is commensurate with experience

Shifts

• 12 hour
• Weekends
• Overnights

Requirements

• Active security license in the state of Texas
• Must own your own vehicle; many of our posts are large construction sites
• Must have current valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Be a citizen or legal resident of the United States
• Must be willing to participate in SST's pre-employment screening process, including a drug screen and background investigation
• Customer service orientated and ability to work independently and with other security team members.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong smartphone & tablet operating skills
• High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and great attention to detail
• Ability to stand for eight hours or more
• Walk up and down stairs
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs

On-Site Security Officer Responsibilities

• Our mission is the safety, privacy, and well-being of our clients
• Excellent customer service is always top priority
• Fill in for officers who are out on vacation, sick, or no call no show
• Ability to work all shift days and times (on call)
• Multi site Security Officer
• Support staffing requirements at accounts during shortages due to vacations, call offs, no shows, suspensions, holidays, etc.
• Expect to work on weekends with limited notice, and work during "high need" periods

Security Officer Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction materials and equipment remain at the property and are not handled by non-authorized personnel
• Maintaining a security check point and dealing directly with the public for security purposes
• Patrolling vicinity on foot or by vehicle and ensuring clients are secure, as well as following and enforcing guest check-in procedures
• Permitting authorized visitors and stopping unauthorized visitors gate access, and preventing property damage
• Conducting fire drills and reporting any potential hazards, as well as preventing accidents and offenses before they occur
• Being alert for offenses, vandalism, trespassing, theft, and damages; observing carefully in detail after an incident has taken place to report to the police and the Patrol Captain
• Maintaining rules and policies by requiring employees and contractors to show their badges and IDs when entering property, as well as inspecting vehicles and personal bags as employees leave the site
• Work outside in a variety of weather conditions depending on the assignment
