Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager

Base Salary: $110,000-140,000
Job Description
Our client is seeking a talented accountant to oversee the month-end close process and manage daily operational accounting areas. This role also includes refining budgeting processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting communications with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end accounting close process.
- Oversee daily accounting operations (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll).
- Supervise and coach a staff accountant.
- Improve budgeting and forecasting processes using data.
- Prepare annual financial statements in line with US GAAP.
- Review and maintain accounting schedules including reconciliation and allocation.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license required.
- 4 years of experience, including at a public accounting firm and/or biotech firm.
- Public accounting experience at a Big 4 firm is highly preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite is preferred.
- Precise and thoughtful communication skills.
