We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EUC / VDI Engineer to support and enhance a large-scale Omnissa (VMware) Horizon virtual desktop environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who thrives in enterprise environments and has deep experience designing, deploying, and supporting secure Windows-based virtual desktops at scale.

In this role, you will take ownership of advanced EUC systems, lead technical initiatives, and serve as a subject matter expert for VDI, Windows systems administration, and automation. You will work independently or as part of a collaborative team to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing desktop services supporting thousands of users.

• Provide operational support for Windows Server and Windows Desktop OS within an Enterprise User Computing (EUC) environment

• Deploy, maintain, and harden golden images within Omnissa / VMware Horizon in accordance with security and industry standards

• Install, configure, and manage Omnissa / VMware products including Horizon View, App Volumes, User Environment Manager (UEM), Workspace ONE, ThinApp, and vRealize Operations for Horizon

• Manage App Volumes Managers, AppStacks, Writable Volumes, and supporting databases

• Centrally manage and maintain user profiles, preferences, and data

• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot EUC system performance and availability

• Respond to and resolve incidents and escalations through ServiceNow

• Diagnose complex system issues and collaborate with vendor support when necessary

• Lead or contribute to EUC-related projects, including planning, execution, and documentation

• Create and maintain technical documentation and deliver presentations to stakeholders

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior technical staff

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, including registry edits and performance tuning

• Direct, hands-on experience with Omnissa / VMware Horizon Suite (Horizon View, App Volumes, UEM, Workspace ONE)

• Strong PowerShell scripting experience for automation, image management, and troubleshooting

• Enterprise-level Windows administration experience:

  • Active Directory

  • Group Policy (GPO)

  • DHCP, DNS

• Experience supporting large-scale VDI environments (10K users preferred)

• Working knowledge of:

  • Windows 10

  • Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2

  • SQL Server (2008 R2 – 2014)

• Basic understanding of:

  • Networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing)

  • Storage protocols (NFS, SMB, iSCSI, FC, NVMe)

• Experience hardening and securing Windows operating systems

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver under time-sensitive conditions

• Omnissa / VMware certifications (VCP-DTM, VCAP-DTM preferred)

• Strong background in Desktop Virtualization (VMware Horizon, Citrix, Microsoft RDS)

• Dell Wyse Configuration Manager experience

• Experience in large enterprise environments

• Knowledge of MSI / Windows Installer technologies (ThinApp, AppStacks)

• Exposure to cloud-based VDI and migration from on-prem to cloud platforms

• 3–7 years of relevant professional experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
