Position Title: Windows OS Engineer (Endpoint Technology / Digital Experience)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based, Eastern Time hours)
Clearance Requirements: Eligible for Postal Public Trust (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required)
Position Status: Long-Term Contract
Pay Rate: $30/hr – $50/hr (W2, based on experience and LCAT level)
Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Windows OS Engineer to support large-scale enterprise endpoint environments and improve digital user experience across Windows platforms. This role focuses on endpoint analytics, performance optimization, root cause analysis, and remediation of Windows-related issues impacting end-user productivity.
The Windows OS Engineer will play a key role in researching system performance, analyzing logs and telemetry data, identifying incident drivers, and implementing technical solutions that improve system stability, reliability, and user satisfaction. Required Skills / Education
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Windows 10/11 operating systems and OS architecture
- Experience with endpoint analytics, performance monitoring, and diagnostics
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and command-line automation
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, hardware, software, and network layers
- Experience with Windows troubleshooting tools such as:
- PerfMon
- ProcMon / ProcDump
- Sysinternals Suite
- Windows Performance Toolkit
- WinDBG
- Wireshark / Fiddler
- Understanding of WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation)
- Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
Preferred / Value-Add Skills:
- Endpoint Analytics platforms (e.g., Tanium or similar tools)
- Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)
- VDI / Virtual Desktop environments
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud – basic knowledge)
- Encryption and security tools (BitLocker, SecureDoc)
- BIOS, firmware, and driver optimization
Experience Requirements:
- 3–7 years of hands-on Windows engineering or enterprise endpoint support experience
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field preferred
- Additional 4 years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree
