The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) offers a variety of services, with many of them provided onsite at a PACE Center.
PACE is an alternative to nursing home care and – through an interdisciplinary care team (IDT) of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, therapists, van drivers, and aides – coordinates and provides preventive, primary, acute, and long-term care services, so older individuals can continue living in the community.

Primary Purpose
Provides the highest quality of customer services for participants by performing all duties in a professional, engaging, and timely manner. Performs clinical duties to ensure that the participant’s needs are met including rooming participants for clinical visits. Works directly with clinic staff to collect test samples, maintain participant records, and assist in basic examinations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Rooms participants and assesses participant concerns and history.
- Obtains participant vitals including pulse rate, pulse ox, respiration, temperature, blood pressure, height and weight and access for pain.
- Perform basic wound care duties as directed.
- Enter orders into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system as required.
- Administers medications, injections, venipuncture and vaccines.
- Processes prescription requests.
- Gives nebulizer treatments.
- Performs diagnostic tests such as EKG and POC as directed.
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment.
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials as needed.
- Communicates effectively with staff, participants and families.
- Makes acute home visits as needed to provide care to participants within scope of practice.
- Able to answer calls, process messages to appropriate staff, answer questions within scope, and return phone calls as needed.
- Keeps leader informed of problems or issues.
- Assumes other duties assigned by the leader that fall under the medical assistant scope of practice.
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings in the absence of the leader.
- Must care, support, and collaborate with everyone involved in participant's care including the participant’s family using the patient-family centered care approach.

This position has no leader responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Must be Certified or Registered Medical Assistant and with minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills; previous EMR experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Well-developed ability to show discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must have the ability to read and write at a competent level in order to fulfill essential job responsibilities, ability to use general office equipment (fax, phone, copier, etc.) and ability to write legibly.
- Must be able to perform mathematical calculations as needed during the course of performing basic job duties.
- This position requires solid critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively problem solve.
- Must have the ability to organize daily workload, keep assigned providers on time as much as possible and to help provider manage changes to their schedule to ensure the participants receive the highest level of care. Multi-tasking skills are essential.
Specific Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience working with the frail, elderly, or long-term care population.

- Reliable transportation; current valid Michigan driver’s license, and car insurance.
- Possess current CPR certification by AHA or willing and able to obtain as offered by Senior Care Partners P.A.C.E.
- Immunizations and vaccines must be current or medical documentation must be provided from a medical provider with reason (s) to request waiver (Hepatitis B, TB, MMR, Varicella, TDaP, Flu, COVID-19).
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language and follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be knowledgeable of current clinical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to communicate professionally with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
- Must have the ability to get along harmoniously with others in a team environment.
- Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
