What are the responsibilities and job description for the DISPATCHER position at Sentara?
Receives and processes requests for non-emergency and emergency transportation of specimens, films, reports and general parcels, using the Outreach dispatching tools. Monitors progress of daily routes for adherence to schedule/plan. Assigns same day non-emergency service requests to appropriate regular courier routes. Assigns STAT or emergency orders for pick-up or delivery to either regular courier re-route, designated rush courier, or outside courier contractors as appropriate given time constraints for service. Monitors STAT orders for timely completion. Assures real-time communications with Sentara couriers via voice. Will have knowledge and use the Outreach supply module to fill and complete orders for supplies for clients. When needed will work route coverage and material handler coverage. Must have the flexibility to work all shifts as needed.
