What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at SFP Holdings Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of the Accounts Payable Specialist is to be a key contributor to the Human Capital group and assist in position ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments as well as reliable financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Scan and electronically route invoices for appropriate approval
- Daily general ledger coding and archival of invoices into accounts payable system
- Conflict resolution of billing, payment discrepancies and outstanding disputes
- Provide support, research and communicate with assigned branches
- Review all payables for accuracy in coding, tax accruals, discounts, and timely payment
- Review vendor statements and follow-up on invoice discrepancies
- Setup and maintain vendor files, process and issue annual 1099s
- Weekly check runs, AP reporting, analysis and maintenance
- Cross-train on general ledger
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, annual audits
- Responsible for assisting with a variety of projects
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, Certifications:
- High School diploma/ GED or Accounting certificate, required
- Associate's and/or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or similar; preferred
Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:
- 3 years of accounting experience, required
Communication Skills:
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Systems and Software Skills:
- Ability to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office, required
- Strong Excel knowledge, preferred
- Experience with ADP and/or Timberline (Sage), preferred
Other Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required. Must be able to comply with Summit's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods. Employee will occasionally be required to bend, kneel, balance, lift <20lb, walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, drive, twist, and reach above and below shoulders. Employee will frequently be required to drive and walk for periods.
Work Environment:
Employee will consistently be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Employees will occasionally be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise. Employee must occasionally wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
