Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in various nursing specialties. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
- Perform essential nursing procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, suturing, and phlebotomy.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patients' conditions regularly, documenting changes accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care strategies for patients with diverse needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations while ensuring a safe environment for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in medical-surgical nursing or related fields such as critical care, emergency medicine, or geriatrics is preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is advantageous.
- Strong clinical skills including but not limited to acute pain management, wound care, medication administration, and basic life support.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
