Shan Potts Law Offices is seeking undergraduate-level Outreach and Communications Interns to support our public engagement efforts. This internship is designed for current college juniors, sophomores, or freshmen who are looking to gain experience in community outreach, event planning, and communication strategy.
Interns will contribute to identifying relevant events, organizing outreach lists, and preparing communications that help connect our law office with local communities and organizations.
This is not a legal internship, but a marketing and outreach support role. Candidates must be domestic U.S. students. International students and graduate-level applicants will not be considered for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities- Research and compile a list of upcoming community or cultural events
- Organize event data into categories based on region, audience type, or outreach relevance
- Assist in preparing outreach emails, contact lists, and follow-up documentation
- Support communication with event organizers and local groups
- Maintain outreach trackers and share weekly status updates with the internal team
- Participate in brief weekly check-in meetings
- Optional: Help with content formatting for printed materials or outreach summaries
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (freshman to junior year preferred)
- Strong research and organization skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Interest in outreach, marketing, communications, or event coordination
- Familiarity with Google Sheets or Excel
- Ability to work independently and meet basic deadlines
- Based in the U.S. and legally eligible to work in an unpaid internship
- Preference given to students located in the greater Los Angeles area
