Pay Range:                             The pay range for this role is $128,000-160,000 per year.
 
Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
 
Position Overview
 
As the Senior Accounting Manager at Sharks Sports and Entertainment you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You will lead a team of skilled professionals and oversee many aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and compliance to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  1. Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial guidance and direction to the organization, helping to drive sound financial decision-making.
  2. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
  4. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and make recommendations to optimize financial performance.
  5. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  6. Process Improvement: Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  7. Tax Management: Oversee tax planning and compliance, working closely with external tax advisors to minimize tax liabilities.
  8. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and support the company's growth initiatives.
  9. Financial Systems: Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to streamline operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
  • Either a master’s degree in accounting, or CPA license is required
  • Minimum 8 years in financial and operating accounting with a mix of public accounting experience required
  • Proficiency in SAP accounting products including S/4HANA required
  • Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Excellent leadership and supervision experience required
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Experience within the sports & entertainment industry is a plus.
 
Physical Requirements
 
·        Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time
·        Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals
·        Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs. with or without accommodation
·        Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation
·        Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice)
