As our Engineer you will build, manage, and enhance systems and services that power the shopper payments and compliance experience. Every day you will work on a team of 5-6 engineers to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain application code using Golang, Python, Redis, Postgres, and Kafka in a microservices architecture. You will work with our product and operation teams to solve different challenges in Shopper Wallet and Performance.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- 2 years of software development experience building large, scalable, microservice applications in the cloud.
- You know how to develop backend software applications using object-oriented programming languages and design patterns.
- You are passionate about software development, learning different domain knowledge, and solving machine learning problems.
- You are able to effectively collaborate across different teams and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You enjoy mentoring and learning from other engineers.
- You are able to design and interact with complex persisted data models.
- You are a self-directed individual that enjoys freedom in your work.
- You are able to identify and improve poor performing code or database queries.
