Overview
We're looking for new talent to join our Accounting team, be part of something special!
The Accounts Payable Associate Manager oversees all daily operational aspects of accounts payable activities. Recommends changes in the procedures for continuous process improvement to pay invoices promptly, accurately, and at the lowest cost.
This role is Hybrid (3 days in office per week) based out of our Niles, IL Corporate Headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Manages the payment of vendor invoices within the terms of the purchase orders, receiving information, and invoices.
- Works closely with vendors, the Purchasing Department, and other internal departments in resolving questions.
- Works with management in the reconciliation of accounts and the preparation of any work papers or information requested by internal or external auditors or government agencies.
- Works closely with outside auditors on the annual audit.
- Reviews invoices from foreign vendors and ensures that transactions are recorded properly.
- Assists in the implementation of new systems; makes recommendations to improve current procedures and/or reporting.
- Assigns work and provides guidance and training to departmental Associates.
- Oversees the reconciliation of the GR/IR, Accounts Payable Aging, and Associate Receivable Balances in the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Managers the activities and development of the Accounts Payable team, responsible for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
- Assist with annual 1099 reporting.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- 2 semesters of accounting
- Minimum 5 years of accounts payable experience
- Able to work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of review.
- Able to direct subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
- Provides immediate supervision to unit, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules.
- Expected to spend a portion of time performing individual tasks related to the unit.
- SAP, SAP Ariba and Excel proficiency required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven analytical, time management skills
- Extremely well organized
