Transmission Service Tech II

Job Brief

Transmission Service Tech II is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing all heavy industrial oil field transmissions and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Able to diagnosis simple and complex mechanic problems.
• Performs all tasks with little to no supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of oil field and transmission equipment.
• Qualified to operate and test equipment.
• Ability to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to read and follow service manuals in the rebuilding of transmissions.
• Complete service jobs as required in a timely manner.
• Training of other service technicians.
• Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and management.
• Must follow all company policies and procedures.
• Must attend training classes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Qualifications

• Must own complete set of hand tools.
• 5 years’ experience with transmissions or similar industrial equipment.
• Some Experience with use of electronic trouble shooting tools.
• Must have a valid driver license or commercial driver license
• Able to travel overnight between facilities as necessary 
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in the English language. 

Working Conditions

• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work long hours and weekends as needed.
• Potential exposure to chemicals, coolants, fire hazards, dust, fumes, as well as high noise levels.

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to reach, bend, push, lift, and climb continuously. 
• Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
