Job Brief
Transmission Service Tech II is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing all heavy industrial oil field transmissions and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Able to diagnosis simple and complex mechanic problems.
- Performs all tasks with little to no supervision.
- Extensive knowledge of oil field and transmission equipment.
- Qualified to operate and test equipment.
- Ability to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to read and follow service manuals in the rebuilding of transmissions.
- Complete service jobs as required in a timely manner.
- Training of other service technicians.
- Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and management.
- Must follow all company policies and procedures.
- Must attend training classes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Qualifications
- Must own complete set of hand tools.
- 5 years’ experience with transmissions or similar industrial equipment.
- Some Experience with use of electronic trouble shooting tools.
- Must have a valid driver license or commercial driver license
- Able to travel overnight between facilities as necessary
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in the English language.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work long hours and weekends as needed.
- Potential exposure to chemicals, coolants, fire hazards, dust, fumes, as well as high noise levels.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to reach, bend, push, lift, and climb continuously.
- Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
