Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $20.00–$25.00/hour
Hours: ~5 hours/week
Schedule: Saturdays | 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: In-Person (Sioux Falls YMCA)
Department: Youth Basketball
Reports To: Sports Director

Do you love working with kids and have a passion for basketball? The Little Hoopsters Specialist leads our basketball basics class for ages 3–5, helping young players gain confidence, coordination, and a love for the game through fun, developmentally appropriate drills.

🧸 Your Impact & Responsibilities
- 🏀 Lead foundational basketball drills appropriate for 3–5 year olds
- 🤝 Make every child feel welcome and supported during class
- 👂 Respond to participant/spectator needs with patience and care
- 🧹 Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment
- 🚨 Follow YMCA policies in case of emergencies and complete reports as needed
- 🧼 Perform light cleaning tasks or notify maintenance when necessary
- 👀 Stay visible and available—your presence matters!
🎓 Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience playing or coaching basketball preferred
- Must complete certifications within 30 days of hire:
- CPR / AED / First Aid
- Child Abuse Prevention
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Understanding of basic youth basketball skills and drills
💪 Physical Requirements
- Standing & walking for extended periods
- Bending, reaching, lifting
- Light jogging, jumping, and ball handling
