Role: Staff Accountant

Reports To: Assistant Director of Finance

Location: Hampton VA / Norfolk VA

Number positions: 2 (Sr and Mid level)

Summary:

Supports financial operations, including reporting, grant management, audits, and cash flow. Ensures accuracy in financial records and compliance with policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle monthly closings, audits, and financial reporting.
• Maintain capital assets and prepare grant-related invoices.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with financial assessments.
• Ensure compliance with grant and financial policies.
• Promote workplace safety.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Knowledge of fund accounting; detail-oriented with strong time management.
• Proficient in MS Office and accounting tools (e.g., PeopleSoft).
• Valid driver’s license required.
