This position provides direct support for individuals as well as staff. As a Community Specialist, you would lead a small team of staff in supporting and advocating for a handful of clients so that they may achieve their goal of maximum independence.
As a Community Specialist, you support the individuals' receiving services from SIRS to...
- Achieve goals the individual selects.
- Achieve as much independence as possible.
- Feel supported in daily living to create a safe & healthy life.
- Make each day the BEST day.
- Recommend life-changing strategies to assist the individual in achieving their goals and obtaining even more independence as part of the Individual Support Team.
- Advocate for the individuals assigned to you so that they receive quality care, both within and outside of the agency.
- Build, engage, and supervise staff working with the individual(s) assigned to you to ensure continued quality service.
Community Specialist in this position would also assist in Day Program and Residential home when needed and will be a part of the Community Specialist team open to providing support through weekend and evening emergent coverage.

SIRS, Inc. is a qualifying organization under the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
Most shifts will be Monday through Friday between 9am-5p, occasional weekends and evenings.
