The Credit Analyst provides commercial lenders with timely and accurate financial information to assist in making informed credit decisions.  They assist with all aspects of preparing credit analyses for loan requests including financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, risk rating recommendations, trend analysis, and identifying the credit’s strength and weaknesses.

 *This position reports in-person to our Sioux City, Iowa location Monday thru Friday. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists with all aspects of preparing credit analyses for loan requests including financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, risk rating recommendations, trend analysis, and identifying the credit’s strengths and weaknesses.
  • Utilizes spreading software for credit analysis and other various software programs to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
  • Spreads financial statements and tax returns in accordance with policies and procedures to allow for an accurate assessment of a borrower’s financial strength.
  • Performs analyses on cash flow, forecast and industry/economic factors affecting the request.
  • Upon completion of research and analysis, prepares credit comments.
  • Completes loan reviews on various credits within the loan portfolio to ensure proper documentation and accurate risk rating.
  • Performs collateral inspections and reviews customer accounts and/or portfolios in order to identify and act on potential credit quality issues.

Required for this position: Strong attention to detail, understanding of credit, advanced financial analysis skills, ability to work under deadlines, independent thinking, analytical skills, self-motivation, communication skills, ability to make informed decisions, and demonstrated teamwork.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 year college degree or related work experience
  • 1 year of Credit or related experience preferred
  • Proven ability to assess risk, identify opportunities, and recommend solutions that support company goals
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail required
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and programs with working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously, meet deadlines, and show flexibility to change direction when needed
  • Team-oriented and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
  • Service-oriented, polite, and respectful
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to take direction and instruction and follow through independently until project completion

       

      HOURS:

      Regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
