A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for grades 7 and 8 in a K-12 school located in Southeastern Minnesota, with primary duties in Harmony and Chatfield areas. This contract position spans the current school year and provides a rewarding environment supporting diverse student needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized instruction in reading, writing, and math to a group of 14 students with varying disabilities.
- Managing a resource classroom serving 10 students in federal setting 1, 3 students in federal setting 2, and 1 student in federal setting 3.
- Developing and implementing educational goals targeting academic subjects as well as social and organizational skills.
- Collaborating with staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Utilizing flexible daily hours with options of 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM, or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM to best meet student and staff needs.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License.
- Experience working with middle school students (grades 7 and 8), preferably in special education settings.
- Ability to tailor instruction to meet individual student requirements and federal setting guidelines.
- Strong munication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
