Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to provide meaningful support as a Special Education Teacher for 7th and 8th grade students with diverse needs in a K-12 school setting. Located in Southeastern Minnesota, the role focuses on a caseload of 14 students with varying disabilities, working in resource and self-contained federal settings. The role is contracted for the current school year (CSY).
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering replacement instruction in reading, writing, and math to students.
- Implementing individualized educational goals across academic areas and essential life skills such as social and organizational skills.
- Supporting 10 students classified under federal setting 1, 3 students under setting 2, and 1 student under setting 3.
- Collaborating with staff to tailor instruction and acmodations to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions accordingly.
Qualifications or desired experience:
- Minnesota Special Education teaching license is required.
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly 7th and 8th graders.
- Ability to manage a mixed setting classroom environment including both federal setting 1 and 2.
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum for students with varying disabilities.
- Effective munication and organizational skills.
Schedule and location:
- Position based in Harmony, Minnesota (Southeastern MN).
- Flexible work hours allow staff to select one of three schedules: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., or 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
