Special Education Teacher in Montpelier, VT

A full-time Special Education Case Manager/Coordinator position is available to support approximately 45 students across two grade levels in a K-12 school setting in Barre, VT. This contract role extends through the 2025/2026 school year, with start and tentative end dates aligned with the school calendar.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary case manager for a caseload of approximately 45 students
• Coordinate and lead IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations
• Develop, write, and maintain compliant IEPs while tracking student progress and meeting required timelines
• Collaborate regularly with teachers, service providers, and related staff working with students across grades
• Maintain consistent communication with staff and families regarding student goals, progress, and concerns
• Analyze academic and behavioral data to inform IEP development and support decision-making
• Ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented and adhered to by the school team
  
  

Desired Experience And Qualifications

• Valid Vermont Special Educator licensure is required
• Previous experience with Vermont virtual SPED case management/coordinator roles
• Strong background in case management, IEP writing, and compliance with special education regulations
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a small, focused team
