Job Overview:
The Production Planning Coordinator will play a pivotal role in bridging communication between the business development team and operations. This position is responsible for supporting the smooth onboarding of customers, assisting with pricing and formulation preparations, and managing the ordering and staging of supplies and ingredients for production. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills and a background in food and beverage production or supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Onboarding: Collaborate with the business development manager to facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all documentation, formulations, and production requirements are collected and organized.
Formulation Prep & Pricing: Work closely with the operations team to prepare and review product formulations, assist in cost analysis, and ensure pricing aligns with client expectations and operational requirements.
Supply & Ingredient Management: Oversee the procurement and staging of raw materials, packaging, and ingredients required for production. Ensure timely delivery and inventory availability to meet production schedules.
Scheduling Coordination: Develop and maintain production schedules in coordination with the operations team, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated and production timelines are met.
Order Fulfillment Support: Track and manage order fulfillment, ensuring all stages of production, packaging, and delivery are aligned with customer expectations and deadlines.
Cross-Team Communication: Serve as the main liaison between the business development team and operations, facilitating clear communication, resolving potential issues, and driving projects to completion.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production timelines, supply usage, and customer interactions. Generate regular reports to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in production planning, supply chain coordination, or related roles, ideally within the food and beverage or co-packing industry.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and production standards is a plus.
