Copywriter

Our Tech client is seeking a Copywriter with experience writing for CRM, emails and digital campaigns to join their growing team of creatives. The Copywriter will join a collaborative group of creatives and marketers and will be responsible for writing copy from conception to completion in a comedic tone across a variety of digital projects including digital campaigns, social media, email marketing, display and more. This is a ongoing freelance opportunity through Feb 2025 (part-time hours on a project by project bases, roughly 20-30 hours a week).Candidates can sit in either San Francisco or NYC.

Responsibilities:

• The Copywriter will write clear, persuasive, original and comedic copy in the voice of the brand.
• Proficient in developing copy for concepts / overarching ideas, as well as versioning of assets, while being able to tailor the messaging to different audiences and with clear messaging hierarchies.
• The Copywriter will tailor the copy to work within limited to character counts when necessary.
• Will write short copy for digital campaigns as well as CRM and email marketing.
• Present your work and rally people around ideas.
• Refine work based on feedback from creative team and business stakeholders.
• Will make complex marketing programs and products sound simple.
• Be comfortable iterating infinitely.

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years experience as a copywriter within an ad agency or in-house creative environment.
• Experienced writing concise, short-form copy for CRM, emails and digital campaigns. Not as much long-form copy.
• Skilled in writing out similar messaging in hundreds of different ways.
• Comedic writing experience and the ability to write quirky, cheeky, punny copy.
• Strong conceptual skills and big-picture thinking.
• Strong editing skills and attention to detail.
• Expertise in digital channels such as email, in-app, SMS/PUSH, paid social and display channels and best practices.
• Present a portfolio showcasing digital copywriting for CRM, emails, social media, etc.
• Experience in retail or OOH/print copywriting is also a plus!
• Passionate about Football / sports is a nice to have.
