Job Description
Solstice RTC is a small, privately owned residential treatment center in Layton, UT. We serve adolescent females ages 14-18, privately placed with us by their parents for emotional/mental health disorders. This position as a weekend chef will help manage menu, shopping and preparing meals for groups up to 60 or more. The weekend chef adheres to all programmatics, schedules, policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
The shifts for this position are: Thursday, Saturday and Sunday schedule.
Must have a clean driving record to drive a company van. Must be able to shop, order and budget. If you are a team player and feel you have what it takes to make a difference, we would like to hear from you. A qualified candidate would include the following:
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Carries out all meal plans for students and staff at Solstice. Adheres to Solstice’s philosophy relative to health, nutrition and provision of balanced and nutritious meals. Supervises and acts as role model for all residents in program as they participate in food preparation and meal planning.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
must have proficiency in cooking for a variety of diet restrictions
· Customer service oriented
· Excellent verbal and communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills required
· Strong work ethic and being a self-starter required.
· Ability to maintain healthy professional boundaries.
· Ability to handle stress management and maintain composure in stressful situations.
· Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles desired.
· Able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screening.
Experience and Education
· At least 21 years of age
· Have a clean driving record
· 2 years experience cooking for large groups
· Food Handler's Permit or willingness to obtain
· CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
