Job Summary
Windy’s Sukiyaki, an upscale casual Japanese restaurant in Ogden, Utah, is immediately seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. For over 50 years, we have proudly delighted customers with a variety of made-to-order sushi rolls, sukiyaki, house-made gyoza, donburi, udon, tempura, rib-eye steak and chicken dishes. Customers can dine in a unique private tea room or our cozy dining room.
As a Sushi Chef, you’ll be responsible for cutting fish and making sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi and other Japanese dishes. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up your workstation, making rice and prepping ingredients. You will work with a friendly and fun team to prepare and plate food at the highest quality level. The ideal candidate will be able to function in a fast-paced
Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure all food meets high-quality standards and is presented attractively
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi preparation area
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate overall meal production
- Assist in menu planning and development of new sushi dishes
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-making techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus but not required
