What are the responsibilities and job description for the Developer position at Sourcebooks?

Are you a talented Developer looking for an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic publishing company? Sourcebooks is seeking a skilled and motivated developer to join our team. While your primary focus will be on FileMaker development, you will also have the opportunity to work on various other development projects that support our business operations.

This position can be remote in the following states ONLY: AZ, IL, MN, WI, CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, WA, NC, PA, TX, TN WA, OR.

Developer Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain FileMaker Pro databases
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions
Optimize and troubleshoot existing FileMaker solutions to improve performance and user experience
Create custom scripts and workflows to automate processes and enhance productivity
Provide technical support and training to end-users
Ensure data integrity and implement security measures to protect sensitive information
Participate in other development projects as needed, leveraging your broader development skills

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or will consider relevant industry experience with professional certifications
2 years proven experience as a Developer with a strong portfolio, including FileMaker projects
Proficiency in FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server
Strong understanding of relational database design and data modeling
Experience with FileMaker scripting, calculations, and custom functions
Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and APIs is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
