Therapy Referral Coordinator

Axis Hand and Physical Therapy is looking for a Referral Coordinator

The job of a Referral Coordinator is to schedule patients from internal and external referral sources with a positive and friendly attitude. Past experience in medical or rehab clinic preferred. PRINCIPLE DUTIES   

• Receiving PT and OT referrals and logging them appropriately for tracking 

• Promptly calling and verifying insurance for authorization and reauthorization 

• Scheduling patients for therapy with a goal of within 72 hours of receiving the referral 

• Act as a back-up in the Main office for lunch and PTO and as needed in other facilities 

• Facilitates the prompt and accurate scheduling of patients for therapy 

• Facilitates successful authorization of OT claims including DME 

• Manages financial calls that go beyond the scope or time frame of the front office personnel 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to work in person at the Tricom location during the hours necessary 

EXPERIENCE:
Experience with insurance authorizations and verification preferred 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Therapy Personnel and Operations Managers

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENT CARE: High standard of care and responsibility that patients are scanned in a safe and clean environment. 

LEVEL AND RESPONSSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY:
High level of accuracy and follow through required. 

RESPONSIBILITY/ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION: Responsible for the confidentiality of all protected health care information. 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR GETTING ALONG WITH OTHERS: Must work well with all staff, patients, physicians, families, and referral sources.
