Required Qualifications:
- PA Teaching Certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Project Approach and Reggio Emilia
- Exemplary communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents
- Ability to collaborate while maintaining a strong community approach to education, focusing on the whole child, not only academics (Conflict resolution, confidence, self-control, are an important part of our program along with attending to the emotional life of young children)
- Proficiency in using iPads and online documentation for authentic assessments, parent communication, and newsletters
- Passion for developmentally appropriate practices
- Experience with nature-based play
Responsibilities:
- Teachers implement Project Approach incorporating inquiry and provocations.
- The arts are a high priority as are writing, reading, math, science, engineering, technology, music, multiculturalism, fine and large motor skills.
- Teachers enjoy a strong community of colleagues, children, and parents who work collaboratively to ensure success for all students.
- Teachers gain skills and confidence working in a pleasant environment while sharing solid research based educational strategies in small group settings with children ages 3-5, as well as Kindergarten students.
South Hills Child Development Center, Inc. is a private school licensed through PDE and DHS and accredited through NAEYC. Only certified Early Childhood/Elementary exemplary teachers are considered for positions.
