What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor - Group Ex position at South Shore YMCA?
Under the supervision of Health and Well Being, the Instructor Group Exercise is charged with effectively and safely conducting Group Exercise programs in accordance with the following policies established by the South Shore YMCA while also providing a high level of member service.

CORE EXPECTATIONS:
PROGRAM EXECUTION DEVELOPMENT
Assure that programs start and end on time, and are set up appropriately.
Ensure that programs are taught with safety being the utmost priority and are conducted with high quality instruction.
Immediately handle any questions or concerns. Refer as necessary to the Health and Well Being Director.
Stay current with new techniques, and teaching strategies.
Assist in the development of new water exercise classes or incorporate new exercises or routines within existing classes.
Be familiar with all information and answer questions about programs, schedules, policies or direct people to Health and Well Being.
Be familiar with group exercise program so that they can assist when needed or provide direction to members looking for other opportunities.
Be prepared to respond to emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
Maintain relevant certifications and professional knowledge to provide consistently evolving and engaging classes.
Provide program feedback from members to the Health and Well Being Director.
Instruct quality Group Exercise classes to all fitness levels, ages and
Abilities. Support and promote teamwork.
Monitor participants for safe and effective execution of exercises.
Attendance at staff meetings.
