SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (IT)
CLASSIFICATION (FLSA): EXEMPT
SALARY RANGE: $34.00 ($70k) -$39.00 ($81k)
REPORTS TO: IT MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Systems Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of servers, computer software, hardware, and network infrastructure. This role will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company’s servers and computer systems. The Systems Administrator will design and maintain local area networks, wide area networks, and network segments. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading, and monitoring software and hardware. The Systems Administrator will support the essentials such as operating systems, business applications and databases, cyber security tools, file servers, printers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs. Will also monitors specific IT requests, alerts, patching, network accounts, and system setups, with emphasis on cybersecurity best practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
- Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems
- Ensure the design of the systems to allow all components to work properly together per best cybersecurity standards.
- Support and maintain network and system security via group policy, access controls using best cybersecurity practices.
- Monitor networks to ensure best cyber security standards.
- Evaluate and modify the system’s performance.
- Maintain network facilities in individual systems, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
- Maintain the integrity of the network, server, and system deployments per best cyber security practice.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure and is on par with technical and best practice cyber security considerations.
- Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways under best cybersecurity standards.
- Assists and responds to customer inquiries (email, phone, remote, in-person, onsite) and assist in troubleshooting and resolving challenges with a friendly presence and helpful demeanor.
- Works alongside Tier 1 & 2 techs and advise on or troubleshoot escalated issues.
- Work alongside the IT Manager and IT Staff, makes recommendations for future tech upgrades.
- Contribute to and maintain IT knowledgebase.
- Perform network address assignments and assigns routing protocols and routing table configurations.
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
- Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, company iPhones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
- Must adhere to a promote ALL company safety policies and promote a clean and safe work environment.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
- Solid experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, Security, Hyper-V, Server 2012R2 to 2019, and Microsoft 365 Products/MS365 Exchange/Azure and administration.
- Specific experience with Datto backup appliances preferred.
- Experience with Sonicwall firewall technology and Cisco switching.
- Experience with ESET Endpoint Protection and File Security
- Experience with email-filtering a plus
- Experience in Cybersecurity or Infosec best practices-emphasis preferred.
- Experience with iSCSI SANS; Datto and Buffalo NAS Terastations a plus
- Windows PowerShell experience a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY
The System Administrator has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The position is active and requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing, and crouching. Along with such movements, employee should have the ability to lift minimum 50 pounds.

POSITION TYPE / HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Schedule is Monday- Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. / 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required based on production or project needs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Technology degree, or minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in IT administration or backend role.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, network technologies, and computers. (MS Certification preferred)
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
WORK AUTHORIZATION CLEARANCE
For E-verify and contract security purposes (including ship access lists), all employees MUST present a valid export document. Acceptable documents are U.S. Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Passport, Passport Card and Permanent Resident Card.
