Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation PURPOSE FOR THE POSITION:
Responsible for screening, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for patients in inpatient, Long Term Care, Alzheimer�s, Home Health, and outpatient settings. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Staff Occupational Therapist is responsible for managing patient caseloads in all clinical settings from screenings and evaluations through discharges. Compliant with State and Federal Regulations. Active participant in Interdisciplinary Team approach to patient care. Provides the necessary billing documentation for billing purposes. Communicate effectively with physician, other members of rehabilitation team and others as indicated regarding treatment plan and patient response to plan. Counsels patient and family according to degree of disability or impairment. Completes all required documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Attends meetings and in-service sessions, as directed. Requires regular attendance and punctuality. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Occupational Therapist in Colorado and current CPR certification. Must have an available working automobile, valid driver�s license and proof of insurance.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be in good physical and mental health. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and must have adequate sight and hearing. Ability to pull, push, lift, carry, bend, touch, maneuver and feel objects with fingers; mobile despite architectural barriers. Ability to lift 50 pounds to transfer patients/residents and equipment. Visual acuity required to perceive reactions to treatment and good eye-hand coordination is necessary.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Requires strong people skills and verbal communication. Must be professional, flexible, caring, and compassionate and exhibit a congenial and sensitive attitude toward patients/residents. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families and staff members. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Frequent exposures common to clinical environment such as medical preparations and toxic substances. Occasional exposure to ionizing radiation.
JOB LOCATION:
Rehab Department or at the main facility -hospital, Long term care or Alzheimer�s Unit as assigned. The floor surfaces are tile and/or carpet.
