Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center, has a full-time opening in the Multi-Specialty Clinic for a Family Nurse Practitioner.
The Family Nurse Practitioner ( FNP ) is a Registered Nurse ( RN ) with advanced clinical training who is responsible for managing the health needs of patients visiting the Multi-Specialty Clinic ( MSC ) and is accountable for the health outcome. The FNP ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with Southern Coos Health District standards of care; demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization. The Family Nurse Practitioner remains flexible to changing systems. The Family Nurse Practitioner demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits, clinical practice, and the treatment of staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect. The successful candidate will be experienced in patient advocacy and education, incorporating physical assessment and diagnostic skills, along with the management of acute, chronic, and episodic diseases. This includes taking a patient history, performing a physical exam, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, providing medication, referring to specialists, and promoting healthy lifestyles in the community. The Family Nurse Practitioner is supervised by and reports to the MSC Clinic Manager.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:
- License required to practice medicine as a nurse practitioner as outlined by Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 678375
- Master's Degree in Nursing or a Doctorate in Nursing accredited by a national nursing organization recognized by the US Department of Education or a credentials evaluation from a Board approved or directed credentials service for graduate nursing degrees obtained outside the U.S. which demonstrates educational equivalency to U.S. graduate nursing degree accredited by a national nursing organization recognized by the US Department of Education.
- Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program that meets OAR 851-050-0001 requirements and is specific to the role and role population focus for which application is made is required.
- Currently has or is eligible for prescriptive rights.
- BLS certification is required. ACLS and PALS are preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience as an FNP preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency specifically in Microsoft Office and online software.

This is a Full-Time position that is eligible for benefits. SCHHC pays the full employee-only amount for health, dental, and vision insurance.
