What You Will Do
The Housing Representative - Cougar Village is responsible for providing logistical and administrative support for Cougar Village. Responsibilities will include supporting Cougar Village academic success initiatives, in partnership with residence life staff.
In addition, the Housing Representative will manage the room reservation and event process for internal and external groups and will manage the key inventory process for Cougar Village. The position will also serve as a valuable member of the summer operations team, collaborating with other housing staff to support the transition of current and incoming residents during the summer.
The Housing Representative – Cougar Village is a unique opportunity to support the success of residential students through operational and program support. The position will include meetings with students to provide support and resources, while also leaning heavily on operational skills to provide logistical and administrative support to a residential community.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:
- Housing, residential life, hospitality, business, or closely related work experiences.
- College course work in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration, Hospitality Sciences, Business Sciences, Social or Behavioral Sciences, or related disciplines, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals six (6) months 60 semester hours or Associates Degree equals one (1) year 90 semester hours equals two (2) years 120 semester hours or Bachelor's Degree equals three (3) years
- Bachelor’s degree, Master's Degree, Experience in housing and residence life at SIUE, knowledge of SIUE University Housing and general University policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of SIUE campus technology systems (i.e. Banner, StarRez, EMS, Starfish).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Organization skills.
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Initiative and enthusiasm for work to assist students
