What You Will Do
- Maintain the training-scale water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure that they are operating in a manner that can be utilized to train the students in the one-year Water Quality Control Operations Program.
- Develop and prepare instructional materials to train pre-service and in-service water and wastewater operators on maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and safety.
- Instruct pre-service students and in-service water and wastewater operators on maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and safety.
- Coordinate the IEPA water supply operator certification testing program. This includes the developing and writing of new exams, and providing IEPA with the results of the testing.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Drinking Water Supply Operator Certification from IEPA
- Wastewater Operator Certification from IEPA
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation used in the water and wastewater industry
- Knowledgeable of safety and emergency procedures related to the water and wastewater industry
- Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater operations
- 1 years generalized experience in the operations of water and wastewater treatment plants
- Valid Illinois Driver's License
- Knowledge of MS WORD, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel
- Previous teaching experience
