Direct Support Professional
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- routines and activities of daily living that are appropriate for their age, interests, abilities, culture and community
- Implement individualized care plans and document progress and observations
- Support individuals in participating in community activities and social events
- Assist with transportation to appointments and outings
Experience:
- Previous experience in social work, caregiving, or related field preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Knowledge of patient care systems and first aid procedures
- Experience working with children or individuals with dementia is a plus
- Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and home care routines
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules
