This team works on the base schedule planning process as well as the Annual Capacity Plan.The team helps define which markets and frequencies we serve on a daily basis within the Southwest network. In this position, you would perform analysis on markets, industry, forecasting, commercial and operational analysis. You would interact with local community stakeholders as well as representatives from Southwest cities. Additionally, this position works with other Commercial and Operational teams in order to create the best performing network in the industry! The Network Planning Consultant is an innovative problem solver and strategic thinker who is excited about the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Company objectives.

- Performs complex and highly visible route and frequency planning studies
- Conducts research, analysis and development of conclusions related to the Southwest route network with minimal guidance
- Produces new route and frequency changes forecasts and sensitivity analyses
- Analyze potential strategic and schedule design impact from capacity planning recommendations
- Creates and presents material both written and oral to Manager and other members of the team
- Seeks opportunities to innovate and improve current processes and tools for teams analysis
- Leads routine project updates and team meetings
- Represents Southwest at conferences and other external professional activities
- Maintains active communication and partnership with airports in the Southwest network
- Intentionally builds airline industry, schedule design and schedule development knowledge
- Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Airline network planning including flight schedule alignment with commercial and operational impact, industry-leading capabilities, and aircraft scheduling techniques
- Network Planning software systems and data
- Impact of Network Planning systems/processes on downline internal/external systems/processes/Customers
- Commercial and Operational performance metrics and targets
- Airline industry including an understanding of competitors operational and commercial tactics and recent performance

- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $102,500 - $113,900 per year * depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunitiesare available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
