What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder position at SP Industries?
Scientific Products, an ATS Life Sciences Company, is expanding our team and have immediate opening for a Grinder to perform grinding and polishing operations on glass tubes to meet customer and/or internal company prints and specifications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Routing material to specific departments for manufacturing
- Set up and operate equipment used to cut/grind/polish scientific glass
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications that are written in English
- Use a variety of measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality levels
- Execute sustained production in the grinding department
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Must observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (i.e. PPE, properly deposing of waster
- Use a variety of measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet quality levels for size and finish
- Assist in managing the supply of replacement parts
- Observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (i.e., PPE, properly disposing of wastes, etc.).
- Understand and follow Bills of Materials and process routers
- Assist on special projects as required
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience working in a team oriented environment
- 2-5 years of glass experience preferred
- Appropriate hand and eye coordination
- Ability to read blueprints
