SSI is seeking an experienced Space Systems Engineer, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
You will support a team of multi-disciplined engineers and analysts to coordinate with government and partner space operations and technical experts to develop OTTI and range solutions using systems engineering rigor and integration expertise. You are self-motivated, enthusiastic, and excited about taking on a variety of challenges as we continue to develop a test and training enterprise solution and support the USSF and Joint warfighting community. You will be able to work under only very general supervision. Occasional travel may be required to engage with key stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for interfacing with all program offices within the USSF OTTI Integrated Program Office to facilitate rigorous systems engineering practices, processes, and documentation.
· Provide operational support to capabilities and system development, integration, test, and transition.
· Provide technical analysis and oversight, engineering expertise, and shaping development to the USSF’s Operational Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI) and Space Training and Readiness Command's (STARCOM’s) National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC).
· Coordinate Government activities and contractor, sub-contractor, and vendor systems engineering efforts throughout the system life cycle.
· Conduct model-based systems engineering and modeling, simulation and analysis as needed.
· Conduct and maintain Configuration Management of the program technical baseline.
· Manage risk management processes and methods for identifying and adjudicating program risk; Conduct analysis to identify program risk areas and recommend/implement risk reduction measures.
· Develop processes for systems engineering management and mission integration efforts to include disparate engineering functions, strategies, and integration of operational and other types of mission areas.
\n- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline and nine (9) or more years of systems integration and systems engineering-related or equivalent experience.
- Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), be adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and be enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
- Leading combined hardware/software and, or space/ground integration activities.
- Using model-based system engineering tools and methods.
- Systems Architecting, mission integration, and systems engineering process support.
- Applying Agile and/or DevOps development processes.
- Travel is 10%
- Advanced degree in engineering, science or related technical field.
- Experience within the National Security Space and, or the Space Test and Training mission areas.
- Experience working in development environment and, or U.S. Government weapons system program office.
- Professional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer, INCOSE CSEP, ITEA CTEP, Agile PM/PO, etc.).
SSI has a target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000 displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
