Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
General Summary:
This provider is responsible for high quality medical care in a primary care setting for students at Plymouth State University working both independently as well as working collaboratively to coordinate care with the other providers and staff to provide patient and family-centered service.
Essential Job Functions*:

Analyze patient’s medical history and health status, examine and evaluate physical condition, order and evaluate results from imaging and testing to verify appropriate treatment

Diagnose bodily disorders and medical conditions, develop treatment plans and provide treatments in office and hospital settings

Perform minor procedures to repair injuries, prevent and treat disease, and improve or restore patient’s function as granted in clinical privileges by the Board of Directors.

Provide consultation to other physicians and surgeons

Orders and interprets laboratory tests and radiological examinations.

Recognizes and evaluates patients who require the immediate attention of a provider and when necessary, initiates, without supervision, emergency medical treatments.

Instructs and counsels patients in matters pertaining to their physical and mental health.

Maintains and signs medical records pertaining to treatments and examinations administered. Completes documentation in University’s medical record daily.

Ensures confidentiality of patient information.

Participates in continuing medical education.

Actively participate in the hospital’s quality and patient experience program; working with the team in the practice to continually improve the patient experience. Supports quality improvement activities in the clinic.

Complies with hospital and departmental policies, procedures, regulations and standards as related to job.

Qualifications:

Education
Required.Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution of Physician Assistant degree.
Preferred:

Work Experience
Required: Experience in a primary care setting.

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations
Required: New Hampshire Board of Nursing licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner of NH licensure as a Physician Assistant.
