SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced SQF Practitioner with a strong background in food safety, documentation control, and cross-functional collaboration. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a proactive individual who can support corporate initiatives related to Safe Quality Food (SQF) and FSMA compliance. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring audit readiness, supporting internal teams and external partners, and enhancing food safety systems and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with SQF and FSMA requirements by maintaining up-to-date documentation and procedures.
- Oversee food safety plans including CCPs and Preventative Controls to meet regulatory standards.
- Support documentation for vendor/material approvals, non-compliance tracking, and corrective actions.
- Manage control of records and documentation using word processing tools and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with departments such as QA, QC, R&D, and supply chain to address food safety documentation issues.
- Conduct internal audits and support mock recall activities, including traceability and root cause analysis.
- Facilitate training and system improvements for CAPAs and SOPs.
- Contribute to Food Defense, Food Fraud, and Foreign Supplier Verification Program documentation validation.
- Assist in resolving documentation gaps and supporting compliance with internal standards and customer audits.
- Participate in third-party audits, maintain document repositories, and manage engineering/document change requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–3 years of experience as a certified SQF Practitioner.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in food safety or related field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experienced in writing, organizing, and controlling documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Capable of working independently under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite including pivot tables, data manipulation, and reporting tools.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
- Able to understand and follow written/verbal instructions and communicate effectively over the phone.
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
